Many of us have been discussing and working on ways to draw out the advantages of being a member and being involved in the Central Chapter SNMMI.  We have contacted many who may have drifted away from attendance at the various meetings offered.

Just a few words on why I joined and stayed with the Central Chapter.  For ten years I was working within a large hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois.  Upon leaving I located in a small rural hospital in Monmouth, Illinois.  It took me hardly any time to realize the need to stay connected to a larger picture of Nuclear Medicine.  That picture has been the Central Chapter Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.  Staying connected with others in nuclear medicine has kept skills sharp, while working as a sole technologist.  Being in contact with speakers who are dealing with issues quickens the mind.  Ideas that are gained from peers are brought back to the work place.

How about you?  Have you ever gone stale, too many electronic credits?  I invite you come sit, talk, rub elbows with some of the best.  I have done this and have gone away the better for it!  So….come say hello again,  at an upcoming Road Show.  OR…  Please join us in Ann Arbor, Michigan for the Spring Conference, March of 2018.

Respectfully, we hope to see you again

Edward A. Melvin
President, Central Chapter SNMMI Technologist Section
